Actinic has released some patched scripts to fix the Internet security
privacy problem. These scripts are for users of Actinic Ecommerce v4. v5
users should install v5.1.4.

The problem being rectified has as the symptom a message received by
shoppers such as:
Error: Error deleting ../acatalog/172Z182Z253Z157A1024681279B15930C0.cart
(No such file or directory).

The problem is caused by privacy settings in Internet security products.
The specific privacy setting is one related to HTTP Referrer which passes
details of the page you visited before the current one. The Internet
security products offer an option to strip out this information.

In v4 Actinic Ecommerce has used HTTP Referrer to keep track of a
shopper's path through the store. If the security product strips this
information then things go awry.

Below are the settings in Norton Internet Security and
Zone Alarm Pro that cause the problem:

Norton
Privacy Control | Enable Browser Privacy

Zone Alarm
Privacy | Remove Private Header Information

INSTALLATION
------------

Step 1 - Check which version you have installed.
In Actinic Ecommerce, do Help | About. The displayed dialog will show the
version. If it starts 4.1.1 then jump straight to Step 3 below. If it
shows a different v4 version, then continue with Step 2. If it is not a v4
version at all this upgrade is not applicable.

Step 2 - Download and install v4.1.1 CBXA Patch Upgrade
Go to http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/downloads.htm and select to
download the appropriate (Catalog or Business) v4.1.1 Patch Upgrade.
Download both the patch and the Release Notes. Install the patch as
documented in the release notes.

Step 3 - Replace affected scripts
Download the corrected scripts ShoppingCart.pl and ACTINIC.pm. Copy these
into the site folder for each site you operate i.e. into each of the
sub-folders within Actinic ecommerce v4/Sites/.
If you want to create a new site then the same procedures need to be followed.

Step 4 - Upload the store(s)
Start Actinic and go into 'Advanced | Network Setup'. You will need to
ensure that the 'Web Site URL' field (e.g. 'http://www.your-site.com/')
and the 'Catalog URL' field (e.g. 'http://www.your-site.com/acatalog/') are
both filled in. This is required in order for this script change to work
correctly. When you have done this, upload the site to the web. Repeat
this process for each site within your installation of Actinic Ecommerce v4.

If for any reason you ever need to revert to the original scripts these
can always be found in 'Actinic ecommerce v4\Original\'.
